About this game

NETFLIX MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.

Mayhem, magic and murder most foul! Examine clues and use your powers of deduction to solve a series of grisly murders and the twisted mystery of a family's cursed heirloom in this point-and-click detective adventure game.

In 1742, a gold figurine imbued with supernatural powers passes into the hands of an explorer by way of a dastardly act. Decades later, the treasure continues to cast a spell over his descendants. Step into the shoes of an 18th-century detective to uncover the dark truth behind a series of strange — and somehow connected — deaths that seem to follow in the idol's wake.

This Netflix edition of the game includes two additional prequel chapters, "The Spider of Lanka" and "The Lemurian Vampire."

INVESTIGATE GRUESOME DEATHS

Play detective as you study crime scenes, analyze information and draw your own conclusions. Observe closely, examining clues with classic point-and-click gameplay. Your skills of deduction can identify each suspect, motive and murder weapon.

PIECE TOGETHER THE PLOT

Use the clues you collect in each scenario to fill in the blanks of a narrative. Unmask the killers in this sprawling story and discover their devious motives. Every chapter unravels more of the gory truth.

EXPOSE THE CONSPIRACY

Reveal the true nature of the mysterious Golden Idol and those who covet it. Follow the journey of a cursed aristocratic family and a shadowy political organization as you untangle a web of villainy and deceit.

Absolutely brilliant. Detective game that emphasizes investigation and deduction to correctly solve word puzzles. The pacing is excellent, each scene and puzzle getting more complex the farther your progress. The sinister atmosphere is perfectly pitched to the tale of misfortune and treachery that unfolds. Great game for all puzzlers, top notch work.

Don't play the Android version, play this great game on Steam. I played the base game on steam when it came out, and downloaded this for the DLC. Unfortunately there are major issues for the third part of the Vampire DLC that are inexcusable. They make understaing the scenario and solving the case naturally impossible. I used all of the hints available and still had to look things up to understand, and it comes down to a bunch of typos and copy-paste issues masking the info.

For such a simple game, it's amazingly well thought-out and complex. I have to admit that there were a few puzzles I needed to brute force (how was I supposed to know that this particular ally freed the character from jail?), but for the most part the puzzles were well-constructed and quite enjoyable to solve. Kudos to Neflix for bringing such a treasure to mobile gaming!
