About this app

Power your device with the magic of Googleā€™s text-to-speech and speech-to-text technology. Google Speech-to-Text functionality

ā€¢ Phone App Call Screen feature to get a real-time transcription of your caller
ā€¢ Accessibility apps like Voice Access for operating your device through voice
ā€¢ Dictation or keyboard apps you might use to dictate text messages through voice
ā€¢ Apps that contain a search by voice feature so that you can quickly search for your favorite shows or songs
ā€¢ Language learning apps that recognize what you say as you practice a new language
ā€¢ ā€¦and many other applications in Play Store
To use Google Speech-to-Text functionality on your Android device, go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Default apps > Assist App. Select Speech Recognition and Synthesis from Google as your preferred voice input engine.

Speech Services powers applications to read the text on your screen aloud. For example, it can be used by:
ā€¢ Google Play Books to ā€œRead Aloudā€ your favorite book
ā€¢ Google Translate to speak translations aloud so you can hear the pronunciation of a word
ā€¢ Talkback and accessibility applications for spoken feedback across your device
ā€¢ ā€¦and many other applications in Play Store

For the most part, very convenient and I use quite a lot. I've read many comments stating you MUST proof read the voice text or you WILL end up being like me, in a rush, not checking the dictation, and sounding insane. Unfortunately, it typically happens when I'm sending to a client or during an important conversation. Wish it was a little more accurate and was better with punctuation. It's convenience when driving is the 4 star reasoning

after a couple of hours of light usage of the Google voice typing feature, this service fails to recognize my voice. I must reset its cache, and then I can use the Google board's microphone to recognize my voice again. or I need to reboot my phone. This is the first app that upon resetting the cache if immediately fixed my issue with the microphone lighting up beeping but not recognizing my voice. otherwise it works. Google pixel fold 1.

Speech to text seems to have gotten much worse. Since I upgraded phones. Ironically, though it. Create a text. Or actually for this review. It was supposed to be created, not create a and Or actually was supposed to be simply for, this review. Not sure. Why it included the word actually. Most of the time, I literally have to start over and type manual to get a decent message out. When you already have something that works.Well, please don't try to improve it.
